The BC Racing DS Coilover system is built with digressive valving, offering the same great benefits of the BR Series and is considered a perfect choice for those looking for track-biased coilovers. The digressive piston design produces a non-linear damping curve — allowing higher low-speed damping to control body roll through cornering, acceleration and braking, while providing reduced high-speed damping to allow the wheel to travel when running kerbs, preventing the impact from transmitting fully into the shell and retaining car balance.
Unlike a conventional linear piston, the DS digressive design increases damping force at low piston velocities — the range associated with body roll, pitch and dive during driven inputs — while reducing damping force at high piston velocities, such as when a wheel travels over a kerb. This keeps the car stable during cornering loads while allowing impacts to be absorbed without upsetting the chassis balance.
