ECU unlocking for BMW, done in-house at our East Tamaki workshop.

Later BMW ECUs are locked from the factory. Before any calibration can be written, the ECU has to be unlocked. Most workshops in New Zealand send those units offshore and wait weeks. We do it here, on our own bench.

How it is done

Bench unlock - the ECU stays sealed. Your BMW ECU is read and unlocked on our bench with the housing left closed. Nothing is cut, drilled or soldered, and the unit goes back into the car exactly as it came out.

Built before June 2020? Those cars use our pre-June 2020 bench unlock instead.

Confirmed coverage

Vehicles we can currently unlock post-June 2020: 2 Series G42 & F44 Gran Coupe, 4 Series G22/G23/G26, M2 G87, M3 G80/G81, M4 G82/G83, X2 U10. ECUs: MG1CS024, MG1CS049, MG1CS201, MD1CS001, MD1CP032. Coverage is checked against the live vehicle database before you pay - send us your year, model and engine.

Coverage depends on the exact ECU fitted to your car, not just the badge. Send us your year, model and engine and we will confirm your ECU is supported before you pay. This is a workshop service - the car or the ECU needs to come to us at 27a Neilpark Drive, East Tamaki.
