Later Kia ECUs are locked from the factory. Before any calibration can be written, the ECU has to be unlocked. Most workshops in New Zealand send those units offshore and wait weeks. We do it here, on our own bench.

How it is done

Bench unlock - the ECU is opened. This ECU has to be opened on the bench to gain access, then closed and resealed by us. It is done in-house in East Tamaki, a full original read is archived before anything is written, and the unit is tested before it goes back in the car.

Coverage depends on the exact ECU fitted to your car, not just the badge. Send us your year, model and engine and we will confirm your ECU is supported before you pay. This is a workshop service - the car or the ECU needs to come to us at 27a Neilpark Drive, East Tamaki.
